Is there a font test/preview feature on the horizon? I posted about this in the wrong forum (bugs) several months ago. It's very difficult working without one. As I wrote, not having a test function means every time you want to see if the font looks good you have to save it and look at it in a font viewer. And if it doesn't, you have to keep going through the same process until it does.
The only thing that is keeping me from purchasing the full version is the lack of a test feature. Please, please make this available soon.

Yes. In fact a font/glyph preview feature is planned as a major feature addition for the next round of updates. This will be included on Type 3.2 for all operating systems, and probably as a watered-down feature for the light versions.
Release will be the second half of 2013 (ie prob July/August).
Please, is there going to be a font test? A glyph preview is not the same thing. A font test allows you to actually test the font within the program, so you can see how it all works together before you save it. Otherwise, you have to save it and test it out as a font and then go back and change it if it's not satisfactory. Other font editors have a test feature, because without it, it's very slow and awkward to try out a font.

This set of features should probably be ready by the end of August. They wil most likely be released incrementally (glyph preview has already been released for Windows), and are free updates for the current version.
Save as SVG web fonts (if that is what you mean) is also planned, but not for the current set of updates - possibly the next.

Glyph preview and text string preview have now been added to the Max OS X version of Type 3.2 and Type light (the only difference in the Type light version is that you cannot preview text with kerning). This is version 3.2.011x, 15 September 2013.
A full font preview (possibly as a grid-layout) will probably be added at a later stage.
UPDATE: The Glyph preview and text string preview features have also been added to the Windows versions 3.2.023, as of 24 September 2013.
Thank you for the addition of a text preview. Please make it resizable so that it is possible to see a full sentence in a larger point size. It is still quite awkward to use for larger type in its current incarnation.

The test window needs to be large enough to put in a fair amount of text so that kerning can be checked and it can be seen at different sizes. TypeTool has a window like this, and undoubtedly, more expensive font design programs do also. In its current incarnation, Type 3.2's glyph preview window is seriously insufficient for the task. Please remedy this; without a font preview test, it is very aggravating to use Type 3.2.
