I received a notice on my mac that the next update of MacOS will no longer support 32 bit software. As I recently purchased a license for Type 3.2, this is a bit upsetting knowing that this software may not work on the next update. What is being done to port this to to 64bit?

Yes, a 64 bit version of Type 3.2 for OS X is currently being worked on, and is aimed to be released before the next major version of OS X (which are typically released September/October-ish each year).
Also note, that in Apples words "High Sierra would be the last version of macOS to run 32-bit apps without compromise" - so it would appear that 32 bit software support will not be completely dropped in the next version of OS X, but 32 bit programs may be 'compromised' (not sure exactly what that means though).
